Hi,
I have been thinking that one way to get this game "released" sooner would be to pause the development of Bargof and focus on the first starting city, Toldara, and its connected content. This would save us from developing a whole bunch of quests and zones. Of course this comes with the drawback that the game will be less diverse and have less content at release.
What do you think?

Gut instinct is that it's better to hold off on a release until that particular bit of content is fully done. Otherwise we are basically cutting 3 whole race/classes out at the knees.
After I am finished with the Savannah I could move onto Bargof and work together with Zaimus on getting it finished?

It's a worthy proposal, but I'm with Doulos on the idea of slashing content.
What would speed up Bagof development, would be something like a spreadsheet or 'map' of the quests available for all Bargof players, as well as each branch of Ogres and Darkelves. The racial quest lines need not be fully fleshed out, but have at least 4 each, spanning a character's development to max. Additionally, a Toldara, Human/Gnome quest map or spreadsheet would also be useful to compare.
Once the text gap is filled, and I begin the Toldara update, I can make that Toldara quest map, and Doulos could take on Bargof then. It would be a triumphant solidification and from that new zones and cool, well thought out quest chains can be planned out efficiently and most likely speedily.
My two cents, at least. How are you feeling on it, Afara?

Ok I agree. We continue with Bargof. I have created the first level in the first dungeon outside of Bargof, with the entrance in the north part of the Bargof forest.
I think we should focus on creating quests that span all races and classes, then as second prio continue with the guild quests and last focus on the racial quest lines. You mentioned 4 quest lines per race and I guess we could do that.
I will have to think a bit about quest maps, preferably I would like to integrate it into the editor. Otherwise stuff will get out of sync.
I want to draw the first version of the "new toldara" before you put your hands on it. But lets try to form it together, I will create a thread soon after I have finished a few more details.
Kids are calling.. Talk more soon.

Just a little something to keep in mind is that you want player interaction. Having a ton of zones and tons of squares means less player interaction. I'd rather be competing for resources rather than never seeing other players.

I think it is time to reiterate this question. Since the we have had some motivation drop the last few weeks I think we need to tighten the scope of the game.
I think we should focus on bringing content for Toldara and temporarily suspend characters to be created in Bargof. Then we try to bring people to the game while continuing on the Bargof content.

Yeah, let's do that. While Afara gets Toldara update begun (redraw +), I'll limit my aspiration at zone updates a little, to focus more on getting in game text. If Duolos is back in the saddle, I bet we could finish filling out the "empty" zones by end of spring / early summer.

I agree here I think you keep players starting in the same area you really want to push player interaction. You would rather too many people competing for resources than players logging on and seeing no one. I finished up my iOS game this week so if things need tested let me know I should be able to spare some time helping.

Sorry crew, not a motivation issue, but a time issue. Boss has been away for a couple weeks and all of the workload goes to me. Between that and marathon training I barely have enough time to be dad/husband right now. Boss is back soon though and I plan on hammering off the last of the Savannah. I'm itching to lay down some solid days of development.

Cool, nice to hear from you! My youngest kid has started to wake up between 4am and 5am so the lack of motivation is more a lack of energy in the evenings. Anyhow, spring is coming and with spring the sun and with sun more energy
