One thing that has become more and more pressing on my mind over the past few years has been that we are a world based on the survivors of a great war and cataclysm, but we have very few specific mentions of this vital history. Specifically, I think there ought to be more physical / visual remnants of what once was, combined with a bit more mentioning of relevant information to create some feeling of the scope of the lore as it relates to the vision and tone we wish to present.
Maybe some maps could have bits and pieces of destroyed buildings, laying around, being grown over with grass sometimes. Maybe a few impact craters here and there. Future underground zones would be prime candidates for adding in some in-tact ruins for exploring; maybe introduce some ancient dwarven, elvish weapons and gear that could be found occasionally.
As the lore gets fleshed out, condensed and solidified, my goal is to add more information about the history divulged through conversations with various npcs. The other end of it is to create more archeological relics (items) and room objects that are antiques, art, other cultural things that may express some of the world's history.
