I've begun work on the zone previously known as The Desert. It is now The Burning Black Rock Desert, Black Rock Desert for short; this references the large black mountain range sticking out of it. The Neverending Day is causing much of the sand to be constantly heated to a horrible degree. [When the night returns, it will be chilly at night. Very dynamic zone!] [This is also a small wink to the Burning Man Festival which happens at Black Rock. ;-] I'm considering making a special kind of boots which would be required to travel across the desert unless levitating or flying. Another idea would be to add a HOTFLOOR flag to rooms, which would cause damage every pulse. NPCs will be diversified and expanded. Minor content expansion. Text rework. Map update.

Sounds great. I think it is better to deal damage in some rooms, unless levitated, than to completely block the player from traveling there. Also not all rooms should be "too hot".

Yup. I had the same thought, so the damaging sand is mostly in the middle of the desert, and the rooms along the sides of mountains, coastline and oasis are able to be cooled, which means a weaker player could move along the sides of the desert without damage.
Conceivably, it could make the desert pretty interesting.

Cool idea. Annoying, rather than deathtrap of course
