Case idea: There's a room with a down exit and a door "trapdoor", the exit has the button "Is Always Hidden" checked, to keep the down exit a secret. There is a room object "red velvet rug" described as covering the floor. A player can "Search" verb it, to uncheck the "Is Always Hidden", which would then show the "down" exit on the player's GUI.
Such a script could be useful for creating responsive graphical environment, (the exit shows up at first, rather than having to type "down" with blind faith,) and allow for a little "process" to searching out secret exits, as a builder could add a step or two to revealing a secret entrance/exit.
In the meantime, the room object will be the same, but just give a flat out hint that there is a trapdoor under it. Functional, if slightly less eloquent. ;X

Good workaround! You will have to live with this one for a while I think. Sorry
