One cultural hang up for designing a little more definition into Toldara, is technology -- since the cataclysm which has made the sun always shine, how do people keep track of time if at all?
A decision needs to be made: do the people have technology and/or astrological phenomena to discern time? If people can tell time, there would have to be some sort of clock technology that was in place from before the cataclysm or sometime after it, (the years before it being lost in the sunshine.) If people cannot tell time because the technology does not exist, or because the sun is completely stationary in the sky, then people in Domdaria must not be able to date things very well if at all.
Either choice we can get a consensus on can be good for creating an interesting and unique story and setting. Either choice can be physically possible with known astrophysics.
PS - I'm thinking the cataclysm could be defined by astrophysics such as: 1 the planet entered a synchronized rotation orbit with it's star(s). 2 a gas giant on the other side of the planet ignited into a second sun. Depending on what we want to do with the sun(s) moving in the sky or not, will probably define with we do 1 or 2...
I'll wait til Jul 24 for anyone interested to vote, then I'll decide if noone else does, (and break a tie), if that's OK.
Please ask any questions if this has been unclear!
Cheers!!
PPS -- I will be spending some productive time here starting now, an hopefully for a few weeks at least. Let's get Toldara 2.0 ready to roll out by summer's end! HOO RA!
