To all the players and contributors who have made an impact upon Domdaria, I, Zaimus give you a holiday update concerning temporary event content and more permanent additions. The first two are holiday related temporary changes and content, so check it out over the next week or so. The last two are concepts related to the event, which introduce a stance on the atmosphere of roleplay to be encouraged in a future community of core players, (but only in theory at this moment).
A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who has been involved in the walk up to official beta launch! (Getting closer!)
1. Festive Shops in Toldara and Bargof: spend some of that gold you've been accumulating on some seasonal products. Consume in trendy holiday fashion and confectionery!
2. The Curse of Claus
While high in the air above the west commonland, a sleigh rider and his eight flying beasts were hit by a beam of corrupt magic, blasting them out of the sky! Meanwhile, word spreads throughout the land of dragon sightings. Will you discover a relationship between the two events? Will you solve the Curse of Claus? A hybrid quest chain live event ran by a GM with support by automated quests: mix your normal playing experience with an interactive light roleplaying encounter as you take on a master level challenge.
3. Updated Small Areas
The following zones have been updated: Caves in the Savannah, Astral Plane Duality, Mountain Portal and Strange Mountain Portal. These include descriptions, expanded NPC presence and definition. Scripts are pending as new developments require reworking, and scripts require further writing/editing.
4. Willful Action Role Playing
This is a theory for mutual collaboration on a particular atmosphere of roleplay for inclusion in the Domdaria experience. To encourage an out-of-character friendly, positive reinforcement of in-character development and strategy. Meant to be referred to as a cornerstone of a core community of roleplayers, this will bring us to the next level of gameplay, combined with:
5. Active Game Mastering
This is a theory for a unifying guideline for staff who wish to interact with players by being active in game mastering, that is, affecting the experience of a player in an enjoyable way. This could be doing things 'behind the scenes' to lead players on an adventure or mystery; it could also include staff roleplaying a particular character or set of characters to engage the player with another layer of game play.
