A respec option, preferably either free or one purchased with in-game currency instead of cash, would be a wonderful idea. It's not desperately needed, mind you, but it's something a few of us would appreciate, so builds can be tweaked as we figure out what skills are most useful for higher level combat.
The model WoW uses for its respecs would be a good one to consider. Your first respec costs one gold (where their currency system uses copper, silver, and gold, instead of silver, gold, platinum), and subsequent respecs cost a little more up to a max of ten gold (I think? I haven't played WoW since Burning Crusade was new, so I could be wrong). The price encourages people to still think about their skills before picking them, but still allows for some experimenting.

Hey, thanks for your input.
I understand your problem and I think it should be solved. Though I never liked the idea of respec since it makes one class able to fill "many" roles and I want a little bit more "hard core".
I'm thinking something in between, that you should be able to respec either partially or just a few times before your character is locked.
Maybe all classes should be able to quest for 1-3 respecs? Maybe partial respec by choosing which ability tree to "undo", could be done by choosing a quest to do.

I like that idea. I understand wanting to keep things a little more on the hardcore front, but having to reroll to experiment with skills is just frustrating. Limiting the number of times you can do it would definitely keep the hardcore feel.

Id like to see maybe 1-3 free respecs and then after that a paid option with a day or so wait period so people cant just change at will for events etc.
While on paper releveling isnt that fun but its good for the game to have people replaying content and interacting instead of just sitting on their high level character.

Some in between solution it is then. Though this do not have high prio for me. What I can do instead is that you report the weak abilities and I will improve them instead. Sounds good?
